Learning Objectives: Introduction to Interior Design is a starting point for those interested in creating, understanding, appreciation and enjoying interior design. Learn the foundation of a profession that enhances life through effective design solutions. Each student will adopt a room to improve by addressing the special, functional and aesthetic need of the space. Whether your goal is a career in architecture, interior design or just to enhance your own living space, the information and hands-on challenge will help you achieve your target. Goals: 1. To introduce a philosophy of and encourage an appreciation for fine design whether it is in a contemporary of historic setting. 2. To understand and be able to apply the timeless principles and elements of design to an interior. 3. Students will become aware of the variety of floor plans, materials, furnishings, color palettes and styles possible in interior design. 4. Become aware of the difference between the profession of interior design and the discipline of interior decorating.
